I’ll Be There, Even When I’m Not

by | Jun 4, 2022

You look at me like that
Whisper in my ear
We know how it well end
Until then I hold you near

I beg you not stop
Gentle breathing on my neck
You beg me not to go
I guess we’re headed for a wreck

Your hair against my cheek
I hear your gentle voice
We both don’t want to know
We both don’t have a choice

Its as if this summer night
Is running out of fuel
Like a ticking time bomb
We’re living with no rules

In this hot affair
Tears running down my face
I smile and I laugh
I’m slowing down the pace

The time we spend together
Is timeless to the end
We live in a steel world
Whose rules are hard to bend

I look into your eyes
I can see into your soul
I don’t want you bit by bit
I only want you whole

I’ve known you many lives
With every lose we gain
I’ve lost you once before
I will find you once again

But no matter where I am
No matter where you are
I will always be there
I will never be too far

I’ll keep you close to me
Even though you’re lost
Even in my darkness
I’ll shine away your frost

Don’t have any fears
When you go to sleep
You’ll see me in our dream
There again we’ll meet

Whenever you are scared
I’ll hug you like I used to
With your head against my chest
The universe against us two

No matter where I am
Don’t cry when you’re alone
Because no matter where I am
We will alway be our own

I’ll be there with you
Through the rain or shine
I’ll be thinking of you
Until one day you’re mine

So put on your red lipstick
Like sheep amongst wolves
I will find a way
To bring you back home

With just one word
I will recognize you then
Once again you will be in my arms
No matter where you’ve been
