It’s Not About Me

by | Oct 10, 2022

How selfish of me
To think god designs my destiny
He designs the world
A world we tread carefully

I’m not but one piece
A part of his receipe
Like psithurism
Just a note in his melody

A phrase in his novel
A drop in his chemistry
I’m just another jealous thought
In a world full of jealousy

I’m not different from you
I’m just an identity
I love like a lover
I hate like an enemy

I need not be fixed
I need not a remedy
I breathe your same air
I crave your same ecstasy

And like all in god’s plan
I’m am here temporarily
Living my story
In my own brevity

Who will remember
Who will have clarity
How selfish of me
To build my own legacy

I know not when I go
To know is a rarity
I’m not even human
I’m a part of the heavenly

There’s we’ll all meet
But not accidentally
For we played out part
But it ends eventually

Until then I think
I think of my destiny
But I realize god plans
It’s not just about me
