Take Me Home

by | Aug 13, 2022

If one day you take my life
Before I’m free to roam,
I will know, it was because
You needed me back home

Until that day I know
That one day we will meet
For now I guide the brave
As I walk on my own feet

I know where I belong
For I am not my own
I ask the stars to wait
Reserve my rightful throne

For I have work to do
Spread love into a world
A world that’s lost its way
Knotted, tied, and furled

Yet I believe there’s hope
To show this world its way
Leave me ’till me job is done
That’s all I ever pray

To love is to forgive
To forgive is to forget
I love you everyday
But we haven’t even met

I know that you watch over me
For there is danger all around
But here I light the path
For all souls, to be found

Should you need me now
I have faith and I will know
I belong to you
Welcome me back home
