What is love but a feeling
A warm flame that lights the dark
Euphoria, fueled by my imagination
An endless voyage upon a barque

Captain of my own journey
I sail across this sea called life
Searching for that feeling
A replacement for my strife

What is love but a word
That defines me as complete
Deep into my empty soul I know,
It’s a word I cannot cheat

In a million words I speak
“Love” escapes define
Ever so present, ever so elusive
It overwhelms my mind

What is love but a thought
Amongst a thousand thoughts
Just a fleeting little glimpse
Of a heart that has been caught

Hearts were made to love
But also free to roam
Yet because of love,
Every heart is aching for a home

What is love but a decision
A decision I must make
In an eternity of decisions
Its the one we cannot fake

For decisions come every day
Some significant and some taught
But the decision to be in love
Is a decision I make not

What is love but something I must find
Like a needle in some hey
I may never find that needle
But to that needle I fall prey

Some find it and some don’t
Others stay lost in time
Some pay a hefty sum
And some don’t even pay a dime

What is love buy a prayer
That all will be alright
Heated in my passion
I’m just trying to take a bite!

For love can taste so good
Like the best of all deserts
Such pleasure it can bring
To those who dabble and who flirt

So, what is love after all?
This thing I talk about
That leaves me stranded in the rain
With no map, and with no route

Is it meant to be
Or do I just believe
Is this thing between us love
Or is it make-believe
